factorymaker is the intelligence layer for factory planning. It connects site, building, and production planning in one system, so teams can weigh the trade-offs across spatial domains and decide with confidence. For the first time, teams can compare layout options based on performance data, and see the implications of their choices before committing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is factorymaker?
Who is factorymaker for?
factorymaker is built for industrial enterprises that reconfigure their production layouts continuously, are planning a new facility or are reconfiguring an existing one. It is used by the teams behind these projects: in-house factory planners, engineers and plant managers who are shaping the facility’s future, and the decision-makers who oversee it.
Does factorymaker work for planned and existing facilities?
Yes, across the full lifecycle of a facility. factorymaker supports greenfield planning of a new site, brownfield reconfiguration of an existing building, and the ongoing adaptation of production layouts inside a facility that is already running.
What do I need to get started?
You can start from scratch, or upload your existing project data, such as site location, building models and production layout information, along with your objectives and requirements, directly into the platform. factorymaker is a web application, so there is nothing to install. You can go from setup to your first set of results in around half an hour.
In what format are the results generated?
factorymaker is built to fit the way you already work. Results can be exported in the common formats your downstream tools use, such as IFC files, standard CAD file formats, Excel and PDF reports, so the work carries through into detailed design and documentation.
How is factorymaker priced?
Pricing reflects the scale of your project and how intensively you use the platform. For a quote matched to your project, please get in touch.
How is factorymaker different from a digital twin, CAD, or simulation software?
factorymaker draws on elements of all three to support decision-making. It builds a connected model of your site, building, and production layout in enough detail to make sound decisions, without the extensive upkeep typically required by full digital replicas. Where a digital twin already exists, it can be imported and used within the platform to explore layout scenarios. A CAD tool draws and documents a chosen layout. factorymaker generates layout options and evaluates them against industry-specific KPIs. Trade-offs between production layout, building and site planning become visible and comparable. Production line and process flow simulation is built in, supporting and sharpening layout planning, and the results can also be exported to common simulation tools outside the platform.
How does team collaboration within the tool work?
Multiple team members can work on the same project at the same time, with access set up for as many people as the project requires.
The platform keeps a full history of each project, recording when changes are made and by whom. Teams can run variant studies and test scenarios, with the reasoning behind each decision kept visible, so nothing is lost as the work develops.
Is my data safe?
factorymaker is designed to meet the data protection requirements of industrial companies. Each company's data is processed separately. Roles and permissions control access to project information.
The platform and its algorithms are developed in-house. Project data is treated as confidential, is not passed on to third parties for our own purposes, and is not transmitted to external generative AI providers. Hosting is in Europe.
Further information is available in the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions. Any additional data protection and security requirements are set out in the applicable contract.
